PRODUCTION MANAGER

 

Responsibilities:

Work with the design director to ensure the overall goals of the team are being met.

Work with department leads to determine resources necessary to see projects through to completion.

Coordinate, track, and manage the activities of personnel to ensure that project tasks are completed on time.

Provide motivation and direction to ensure that project objectives, milestones and deliverables are achieved.

Supply updates to team leads and executive management on progress.

Support the team in all phases of the product development cycle from design through implementation, including production, alpha, closed beta, open beta, and live 

Respond proactively to problems before they impact the team, identify and resolve dependencies before they trigger, and assist in maintaining the risk management plan 

Identify, establish and maintain industry best practices, and lead the team in executing them effectively.

Contribute to a positive work environment.

 

Requirements:

A minimum of 2-4 years experience as a project manager or producer.

A minimum of 1 published title shipped in a project manager or producer role.

Able to communicate effectively with programming, art, design, and business personnel.

Knowledge of software development process, project management, and performance management.

Proven experience managing schedules and employees to achieve desired results.

Exceptional verbal and written communications skills.

Unrelenting self-motivation and initiative.

Thorough understanding of the lifecycle and methodologies of game development, including agile development. 

Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and enthusiastically to both individuals and groups.

Ability to balance a project’s production requirements with schedule, budget and staffing limitations. 

Ability to take in, organize and manage an immense amount of detail across multiple departments. 

Ability to maintain positive outlook and sense of humor in high-stress situations. 

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school.

 

Pluses:

Certification as a scrum master.

Technical/programming background and/or experience managing programming teams. 

Experience working on online games.

Experience working on RPGs. 

Familiarity with Hansoft or Shotgun software
