SENIOR TECHNICAL ANIMATOR/RIGGER

 

Job Purpose:


The Senior Technical Rigger will work with the Character Artists and Animators to help push the quality of in-game characters and animation. This role involves not only the chance to work with the animation team in developing high-quality rigs, but also the opportunity to work on a world class game.

 

Responsabilities:

  • Responsible for character rigs and character skinning
  • Create and maintain animator-friendly rigs
  • Help improve the efficiency of rigging/skinning pipeline and processes throughout the life of the project.
  • Create and maintain documents outlining rigging/skinning needs.
  • Work with tools programmers to pioneer and deliver tools to help rigging and skinning processes
  • Communicate technical integrity to character artists and animators.

 

Requirements:

  • Fluent knowledge of at least one major 3D software package (Max, Softimage, Maya). 
  • Experience with Unity3D
  • Proficiency with with common scripting languages (MAX script, MEL script, Python, etc.) 
  • Must demonstrate initiative and strong problem-solving skills in regard to all types of rigging and animation techniques. 
  • Understands the importance of character budgets and memory limitations . 
  • Communicate clearly and concisely within a large group/multiple project environment
  • You are a focused problem-solver and team player who’s happy to work proactively with all disciplines, and work independently when necessary.
  • Ability to work within a schedule and budget
  • Highly motivated and passionate about interaction designs and games
  • You are fluent in both written and spoken English and possess excellent communication skills.
